Prologue: The Invitation

Alice and Andrew Ambrose-Thurman would like you to join them to celebrate their marriage at 11am on 10th August 2013 at Durham Cathedral. The service will be followed by a reception at Durham School.

Evening Guests

While we would love to invite everyone to the whole day, sadly we cannot. We look forward to welcoming our evening guests from 6pm at Durham School. There will be a hog roast, ceilidh dancing, and later a disco. Our evening guests are also very welcome to join us at 11am in Durham Cathedral. The service will last about an hour and a quarter, as there will be communion. Please RSVP by Sunday 23rd June.

Durham Foodbank

We regularly support Durham Foodbank and would like to do something as part of our wedding celebrations to contribute towards their work. We know this is a bit unconventional, but we would like all our guests to bring a tin, jar or packet with them to the wedding. We will put these together with our own donation and send them to the good people at Durham Foodbank. For more information see Chapter 7: Gifts.

Accommodation

We are getting married the same weekend that the Ashes are being played in Chester le Street and accommodation is filling up. We recommend that if you are coming you book your accommodation as soon as possible.

If you are hoping to stay with friends in Durham, we recommend that you contact them now and check they have not already promised their spare room/sofa/dogbed to someone else.
